I am in Las Vegas attending at NAB. For the past two days, I have immersed myself in Rich Media Web Site Development. For the most part, the sessions were good. A couple of the presenters assumed that the participants did not have any basic knowledge. This assumption was false considering the attendees are in the post production field. The most useful tidbit that I learned today was that the new Flash version has captioning built in. Flash video is already the standard. With the new features, it is even easier than before. I was excited to attend sessions at the Adobe booth in the NAB Exhibit hall.

At the Paris, I attended the Producers show. It is hilarious and I highly recommend it. I purchased a nose bleed section ticket but during the last minute, I was upgraded to the seventh row because they were not full. I laughed so hard when David Hasselhoff appeared, dressed in drag. The dancers were excellent. They each played so many different roles, giving the illusion that the cast was very large. It was not until the end of the show until I realized that they were the same characters.

Being a taxi driver in Vegas is very demanding. I always ask a lot of questions due to my inquisitive nature. None of the taxi drivers here can own their own cars. They work 12 hour shifts. The drivers get to pick the time that they work. Some of my drivers were from Ethiopia. One said that he also drove a taxi there. A few of my drivers were from Mexico. Out of all of my trips, only one driver was an American. He told me that the drivers purchase their own gas, even though they do not own the cars that they drive. There are over 4,000 taxis here. It makes me wonder how they can each make a living off of the large tourist pie.
